VOLUNTEERING

Events

Events are a great way to meet other Greyhounds and people who adore them! You can bring your dog...he/she will love to spend the day with the other dogs! We always need volunteers to go to special events to talk to people who are curious about the dogs or are looking to adopt. Events can be very busy, so we like to have at least 6 people and 10 dogs per event.

Meet'n'Greets

We need volunteers to go to our weekly meet n greets to talk about the Greyhounds. Most are held at Petco and PetsMart locations.

Donations

Your cash donations can feed dogs! We also need food, supplies, etc. Read below for a complete wish list.

We can also use prize donations...if you have a business that can donate prizes for raffles and contests, please let us know! These donations can be written off as well!

Other Ways You Can Help

You can help us organize events, write articles, promote the group, and many other things. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at pam@gpa-az.com or 877 454-3647.

Some Easy Ways to help Support Greyhound Pets of Arizona

• Save your aluminum cans – you can drop off your aluminum cans at any of our Meet n Greets or Events listed on our website calendar.

• Dog sit for other folks with greyhounds (or any other breed) and have them make a donation to GPA in lieu of paying a boarding facility (this is a win, win…they get to write off the donation on their taxes and GPA receives a much needed donation for the hounds.

• Do you do any online shopping? Sign up for IGive where over 1200 retailers donate a portion of your purchase to Greyhound Pets of Arizona. It is that easy! Go to iGive.com/GPA-AZ and sign up today.

• Are you creative? Maybe there is something you could make and sell at our events. We have many talented volunteers that make cool stuff like collars, beaded necklaces, magnets, coats, stained glass, decorative gourds and much more!

Grooming mitts for short-haired dogs. No combs that are metal or sharp please!
